Porter,

How do you determine volatility? Do you examine current options prices and then select a measure which establishes the best fit with existing prices? I have tried this before, but usually longer-term options prices are out of wack with with short-term ones.

I have done some options trading, but usually only straight buys. I have been considering writing some put options through my discount broker - BOM. If the buyer decides to exercise the option, is my account credited with the shares and the appropriate funds deducted?

Thank you for any of your thoughts.

Peter.
