Yes, the Voodoo Rush is what people on this board have been calling Voodoo II.

Gamecenter has a nice round-up of 3D cards where they cannot stop gushing about the Voodoo chip. It probably a generation ahead of everything else out there.

The problem for 3dfx comes when Intel and Lockheed Martin introduce their 3D AGP chip toward the end of this year. By the end of 1998 AGP will have software support from Windows 98 and be ubiquitous. If 3dfx's next generation chip (Banshee) due for release Q1 1998 does not include AGP support it is DOA.

Aside: AGP is Intel's hardware initiative called Accelerated Graphics Port. It's a high-bandwith bus between the graphics controller and main memory which will eliminate the need for graphics boards to have memory chips of their own. It should allow for the storing of massive amounts of 3D textures and other graphics information on unused portions of main system memory (i.e. the 32 or 64 Meg you have in your computer). Intel will support AGP with a bus-controlling chipset to be released this fall. Microsoft will support it with the next rev of Windows 95. After that, everything cutting-edge 3D will be AGP.
