Very thought provoking and unfortunately, IT (information technology) in this dawning of the Digital Age cannot be all encompassing for all as we/I would hope. As man finds a way and things evolve...in that order NOW, man/woman/child in 3rd world nations will always be playing catch-up with the leaders of the world in this techie frenzy that might slow down some in the next 10 years. So if it does slow down; There will still be a more needy, deprived, hungrier, colder, abused person somewhere out there; and not just across open seas. 35,000 homeless in Atlanta and 40,000 in Houston were fed turkey dinners this Thanksgiving. JUST 2 CITIES in the US. The Internet can help to aid in many ways and it will, but...as others get burned on this Internet like they never imagined they would. Hmmm! I have a sneaky suspicion that this and other technically advanced nations may be stepping back 2 for every 1 forward. That is until some ethical governing bodies step in and help. Ethical governing bodies? <G>

Now if Bill Gates and Craig Mccaw can figure out a way to wireless down food, blankets, health care and the like via the satellites in a few years...that may change the whole picture. <btw> There is talk of Teledesic going public around 2001.

5 years ago I was selling 386DX machines fully loaded for $1500.00 and then, I never would have imagined that I can't get $100 for it today.

All the above....Providing Saddam or some other idiot doesn't throw a wrench in the machine first.

Best Wishes
