The data CLECs that resell over RBOC provisioned copper are going to have a VERY hard time of it. There is NO WAY they will be able to maintain their growth rates as they scale beyond initial and aggressive deployment rates.

RTHM is working closely with PacBell. Last week they had a large provisioning "interfaces" with data CLECs. Take home message:
1) RBOC copper provisioning is bottlenecked
2) more importantly, the RBOCs are disinclined to provision much faster or deeper - they can and do stall so that the CLEC customer looks to the RBOC for these data services.

Look for signs of weaking revenues and line installs in the coming Qs of public data CLECs.
