InfoAmerica Setting Up Beta Test Sites in Tijuana Nortel Networks to Deliver Final Design For Digital Optic Portion of Network, March 1 LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Cable California SA de CV, in conjunction with its U.S. partner, InfoAmerica, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: IFOA - news), is installing several beta sites for initial tests of an advanced fibre network currently under construction in Tijuana, Mexico. The beta sites are being installed in residential and business areas of Matamoras in the eastern part of the city. Other sites will be installed as the design and construction advances throughout the market.
Nortel Networks, which will provide the design and implementation of the digital optic portion of the fibre-optical network for the cities of Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico, will deliver their final design on March 1.
The beta sites will provide various content elements including approximately 100 channels of cable television, pay television, over the air stations originating in Tijuana, San Diego, Los Angeles and other cities; optical transmission and return for high-speed data for the Internet and business customers; and many proprietary services not yet available in the Mexico market to be provided by InfoAmerica and its subsidiary, Technical Services Broadband.
