FRCP: Announces Army Contract Totaling $11.8M

Force Protection, Inc. (FRCP) announced that the U.S. Army has ordered an additional 15 Buffalo mine-protected clearance vehicles for use in the Iraq War. The total contract amount is estimated at $11.8M.

LADSON, S.C., Dec 1, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Force Protection,
Inc. (OTCBB:FRCP) and the vehicles it produces have been featured
prominently in news reports across the nation.

Force Protection, Inc. produces blast- and mine-protected vehicles
such as the Buffalo, a mine clearance vehicle that has been used by
the Army Corps of Engineers in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Cougar
Hardened Engineer Vehicle (HEV), a transport and lead convoy vehicle
that has been used by the British Ministry of Defense in both Kosovo
and Iraq.

The vehicles have recently appeared on the CBS affiliate WSLA-TV's
11 o'clock news in South Carolina, CNN.com and the Army Times
Publishing Company's Defense News.

Army Times

In the December 6, 2004 edition the article "IED hunt & kill"
features the Buffalo as one of the specialized vehicles included in
two "hunter/killer" teams being tested by the Pentagon to reduce the
threat of roadside bombs in Iraq.

Defense Daily

The U.S. Army contract with Force Protection, Inc. valued at
approximately $11.8 million for 15 Buffalo mine-protected clearance
vehicles for use in Iraq was featured in Defense Daily's November 30,
2004 edition.

CBS Affiliate WSLA-TV

The Spartanburg, South Carolina CBS affiliate featured Force
Protection's Cougar and Buffalo vehicles during its November 15th,
2004 evening news telecast, citing the cutting-edge technology that
enables them to withstand attacks from mine blasts and the critical
role they play in protecting troops in Iraq.

CNN.com

The Buffalo was featured in the article Remote Technology Spares
U.S. Soldiers posted to the November 8th, 2004 Technology section of
CNN.com. It describes the Buffalo as life-saving technology and one of
the vehicles that is deployed daily to protect soldiers by removing
explosives from minefields.

Defense News

The Cougar HEV was featured in the November 1, 2004 Random Notes
column as the first of 14 vehicles that was shipped to the U.S.
Marines in Iraq.
