Kumar, Say you have one contract of Feb 55 call, and you don't want to wait for saturday to cash your option. You sell 100 shares short on Friday at 90 and you option will give you 100 shares at 55 Saturday, this would leave you a 35 dollor profit in your account. Others who do not own options who realize there alot of people into money on their options short the stock anyway, realizing that options' run to the exit will happen on that day. For the option player who missed the short and cover on Friday, this exit continues through the monday after, because options folks are not the type to hold a stock. cj
