MetaCatalog, based on Aspect Development's leading catalog technology, gives engineers easy access to design data within the Metaphase product data management (PDM) environment to optimize the reuse of designs and design elements in diverse products.
Developed through a strategic partnership with Aspect Development, Inc. (Nasdaq:ASDV) and mutual customer Ford Motor Company, MetaCatalog integrates Aspect Development's catalog technology to create a structured, easily accessible repository of approved design information within the Metaphase PDM structure. Because the design data is easily and readily cataloged and available to engineers for reuse, MetaCatalog expedites the early stages of product development.
MetaCatalog goes beyond basic application integration to provide a common user interaction environment. From any standard web browser, engineers can use MetaCatalog to organize, search and retrieve approved design, component and system data from Metaphase Enterprise, allowing them to reuse complete designs or design elements, rather than build them from scratch. MetaCatalog allows companies to optimize the intellectual capital of their preferred design data within the broader framework of enterprise PDM.
