A bad business deal, is hardly "screwing us" to the extent that the government does routinely.

Excuse me....there was taxpayer money involved in the deal. The deal was not a sound one but yet, the newspaper lied to protect its interests. Who do you think paid for that cover up? The taxpayers did.

As for poor and biased coverage of it. Again that's small potatoes compared to government, esp. since the newspaper in question wasn't the only source that could report on the issue. Your repost of the Seattle Times story shows that.

The screwing by gov't is in your imagination and may or may not have validity; the screwing by the Cowles company was very real and was hidden by the corporation.

Corporations consistently will screw the little guy if its in their best interest. That is why laws have been passed to protect the consumer.
