Pretentious? You just reduced a universe of several thousand companies to one generalization.

There are many excellent analysts on this thread. It's always one of my first reads when I log on. But please allow me to point out that there is a lot of tilting at windmills, Don Quixote style: YHOO, AOL, DELL, etc.

Most billionaires make their money long. But most successful traders I have followed on SI make their money long and short. They have learned how to put emotion aside and make the best of the trends they see, whether it is FA or TA.

Personally, I have broken even on shorts in 1998 and made my money on the long side. If the market snaps, I will drop my longs and fire up the short brigade. It doesn't make sense to me to cling to either camp.

In case anyone forgot, Roger went long on MSFT at 118. I will take a careful look at CIEN on Monday morning - long.

End of speech.
