That has been my experience and the experience of most of my friends as well. I think, male or female, if you don't like babies no need to force yourself or have others force you to be around them. And moms (me included) will usually jump at the chance for help. My husband has found raising children to be very rewarding but he looks forward to the time when they move out, or at least he thinks he is looking forward to it, which is pretty much the same thing. Having children was more important to me than it was to him. We waited 9 years before having kids just to make sure he really wanted them. He didn't want to be anywhere near babies and he always said so, and still does, to anyone who will listen.
