I have never heard of Datek not allowing a short on a marginable issue in the months and months I've been listening. I just recently heard one fellow report that he had had shares called back (PNDA), but I don't know if they actually did it (Sometimes if you "forget" to cover the broker finds the shares somewhere else). It has only been inertia that has kept me from funding my Datek account.
