The Brits are as dumb and naive on gold as they are on Kosevo - as you know I think they thought that announcing the sales would create an orderly process - but they miscalculated the effect and have lost mucho money at least so far on the value of their reserves, and of course the other CBs have lost too - one wonders if the Fed, and other CBs (France and Germany perhaps - or even the ECB) might step up to the plate at the auctions? I'm wondering too if SA shouldn't cry bloody murder and ask for international aid - preferably from the IMF - sweet irony indeed. D
