Just received my first copy of Internet Telephony Magazine and am pleased to see that FTEL is mentioned twice in addition to their full page Tempest ad. Overall, the magazine is an excellent source of IP information and will provide hours of reading. It is also clear that this market is Hot -- without counting, it is probably safe to say that a dozen companies are introducing IP products that will compete with FTEL. FTEL seems to stand out as a well respected IP telco company since the magazine gave FTEL good coverage. They issued a press release for FTEL's agreement with WorldCom to collocate the Tempest (old news to us), and also printed a statement by William Hamlin, FTEL's Chief Technology Officer, on his views on the hurdles faced by IP telephony companies to reach the next level. His response focused on educating the market on the limitless potential of IP telephony, and the benefits of open standards. Eight other companies also provided their views. This is a good magazine and the subscription is free 800-243-6002.
