Well the debate would be different, but its an open question about how different it would be.

There would still be people who insist on having the abortion. And those who insist that it is their right to do so, while other insist it isn't. So I don't think the debate would just go away.

It would weaken the pro-choice argument, and it might bring the status of the father slightly more in to the picture, but it wouldn't resolve the issue.
