Esteban:

It looks like some websites can get around Ad-Aware's algorithms. Pop-ups are getting through on some sites by opening as real web pages with normal browser windows. Black Knight has my King in check, so to speak.

Are there any other programs out there to confront this new invasion? Comically (to these website owners and their programmers only, I can assure you) this new brand of pop-ups has a green bar telling me "all is well." They're so cute -- like baby crocodiles.

As to turning off cookies: I can see how that would stop the pop-ups. However, I use so many sites for more than surfing. For example, do you have trouble with sites that need passwords? I use Microsoft portfolio manager that (last time I turned cookies off) insists on them to use the site. I also use Yahoo Shopping a lot -- same issue. IOW, I would rather not modify the cookie settings if possible.

Any help appreciated.
