If Wall Street thinks MRVC sells fiber optic cable over the telephone, I can understand the confusion. The truth is funds were not buying because there is no "mental connection" on the Street between the core earnings at 3Com and MRVC. This ain't my fault. And then the shorters took over. I don't think it's longs dumping here. You said: Given 3Com's comment about the FE sector, you might have expected to see MRVC's stock price take off....given that it specializes in fast ethernet and all. I certainly did. Why didn't it do so in theface of such positive news? On the contrary, MRVC has been very weakin a surging tech sector--declining 20% in the past 2 weeks.
