Kap,

I think that the AMD roadmap specifies Clawhammer release before Thoroughbread.

There is a lot of speculation about the infrastructure needed for Hammer, and very little solid info. We know that AMD is going with LDT, but will they completely move Northbridge to the CPU die, and eliminate EV6, or is there going to be some kind of hybrid approach?

If AMD does what my understanding is, that is to move Northbridge to the CPU die and connect to the outside through LDT, and if you are right that Clawhammer is out before Thoroughbred, then I don't really see any point to Thoroughbred, other than maybe for the low end and maybe mobile. I think Fyo got it right when he said that TB/AP are just an insurance policy in case there are problems with Hammer line. They should move to low end and disappear fairly quickly.

I hope the transition from K7 to K8 will not be so painfully slow as it was with K6 to K7.
