Tell your relatives that I put $500 in my son's education IRA last year.

What do you buy with only $500?

I saw Yahoo was $247/share, so I bought 2 shares for him.

Yahoo split, so he now has 4 shares which recently were in the $400 range. (It's getting ready to split again next month.) I might even accumulate enough in his IRA to pay for a couple of years of college some day.

Two years ago, I bought $1k of Cisco (15 shares). Two splits later, I have 44 shares worth $4.4k. (I'll bet ya Cisco splits again this year.)

I bought 9 shares of CMGI last year and two splits later have 36 shares.

I also bought 20 shares of BRCM at $128/share last year. It split and my initial $2.6k is now worth $11.8k.

I have this theory that expensive stocks have a tendency to get more expensive....
