I'm sorry, but I don't accept your implication that anything short of of invading and reinventing Iraq is appeasement I'm sorry, did I miss Europe's previous aggressive efforts to delegitimize terror and fight it everywhere it occurred? would think that you would consider it a big step forward for Europe to buy the notion that there is no excuse for terrorism, after all. I would think that you would also value their coming around to the notion that we have a war paradigm rather than a law enforcement paradigm I will indeed think so if I see it happen. As you may have gathered, I place little faith in Le Monde's reflections of the immediate aftermath. I was cheered by a Spanish official who said, "now we see we are all at risk for terror" and listed the locations of terrorist bombings - including Jerusalem on the list.
