Good to hear from another Pelecanos buff! I enjoyed the Nick Stefanos series, nice to see him reappear at the end of Soul Circus. Strange and Stefanos should be a good match for the next book. In "Hell to Pay" Pelecanos raised racial questions like I've never seen raised before. He makes you take a hard look at yourself as you read. I found myself wondering if I would have reacted the same way Quinn did when he was confronted with that racially charged situation. It would be a coup if they can convince Richard Price to write for them. Pelecanos leads the way in hard-boiled, but Price transcends the genre. Have you read "Samaritan"? It'll knock your socks off.
