My recollection of that report (I have copies of every one filed at my office but not at home today) is that he simply felt NAS would ultimately prevail over SANS.
Was the basis for his recommendation in NTAP.

I thought he was positive overall on the new "Storewidth Paradigm" as he called it. He just attempts to point subscribers in the right direction. That does not mean he is bearish on all competing technologies.

For instance, he is bearish on SONET because he sees the optical switch as a disruptive innovation to that technology.
