...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH
MONDAY MORNING...

A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH
MONDAY MORNING.

IN MASSACHUSETTS THE WATCH COVERS LOCATIONS ALONG THE MASS
TURNPIKE FROM BOSTON AND ITS NEARBY SUBURBS TO THE BERKSHIRES AND
NORTHWARD INTO SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE.

PRECIPITATION...IN THE FORM OF SNOW...SLEET OR RAIN SHOULD
DEVELOP LATE THIS AFTERNOON OR EVENING THEN CHANGE TO SNOW AND
BECOME OCCASIONALLY HEAVY TONIGHT. THE SNOW WILL TAPER TO
FLURRIES LATE MONDAY MORNING OR DURING MIDDAY.

TOTAL STORM ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 10 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN A
12 TO 18 HOUR PERIOD WITH A LOW PROBABILITY OF ISOLATED HIGHER
AMOUNTS.

HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD BE ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN...
ESPECIALLY THE WORCESTER HILLS AND EAST SLOPES OF THE
BERKSHIRES...EXTENDING INTO NORTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS AND
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY NEW HAMPSHIRE.

IF MORE THAN 5 INCHES OF SNOW AT TEMPERATURES OF 32 DEGREES
ACCUMULATES ON TREES AND WIRES...POWER OUTAGES COULD DEVELOP...
MAINLY LATE TONIGHT.

THE CAUSE OF THE WINTER HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS RELATED TO LOW
PRESSURE LOCATED ACROSS THE DEEP SOUTH EARLY THIS MORNING. IT
WILL INTENSIFY INTO A STRONG GALE AS IT PASSES JUST SOUTH OF
NANTUCKET MONDAY MORNING.

ALL WITH TRAVEL INTERESTS TONIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING ACROSS
SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND SHOULD MONITOR UPDATED FORECASTS ISSUED TODAY.

Kinda tough for anybody to see those last-minute attack ads with no electricity...

UPDATE: A local reacts:

I know to the rest of the country this sounds like a big deal, but here in the Northeast 5-10 inches of snow is just another winter day in New England. My son attends college in Montgomery, AL, and they shut the city down for an inch. I live right in the target area for this storm, and I plan on going to my office tomorrow as normal. The weather may be something of a factor, but only for those who aren't energized. I think this can only benefit Brown.

One last comment, as a lifelong Red Sox fan. I feel the same way with this election as I did in 2004 for the World Series. I am too afraid to get my hopes up because I have had a lifetime of disappointment without any real political representation in Washington. I take some pride in saying that in my nearly 30 years of voting I have never voted for someone who has won statewide in Massachusetts (including for the relatively liberal Republican governors), but I feel like this may be the first time in my life where my vote matters. I'm hoping for the same thrill of victory as in 2004. Beating Obamacare would be just as big a miracle as sweeping the Yankees after being down 3 games to none.
