I think we discussed this before together : when I travel, I use AOL Globalnetwork. It costs $6 an hour (in general) + local phone cost (eg. 10 Yen a minute in Tokyo). But this is far cheaper than calling overseas an ISP number. The only problem is that some countries have strange PABX technologies, non compatible with Hayes commands. Then you have to go to the business center (eg : Hyatt hotel in Budapest, Hungary).
