I did some research on homogeneity vs heterogeneity in work teams a few years ago. Heterogeneity lends to creativity and innovation. Homogeneity lends to stability and comfort. Heterogenus groups tend to have problems with high turn over of employees. Homogenus groups have problems with coming up with new strategies as needed, and can at times endorse negative strategies in support of the group think.
