Nothing seems to be very clear anymore including how you define bear markets....I would have no quarrel with the 7 month avg. for the russell on the length of a bear market, but concerning the S&P or the DOW i would say they now last days or weeks, not months. Look at every 10% fall on those 2 indexes for the last 11 years and I suspect the avg. recovery time is measured closer to days than months.
