I can imagine some liberals claiming that they aren't "real press" (like they claim about Fox News, except they might further on this one), and then argue that the freedom of the press doesn't apply to them.

OTOH, if the government tries to regulate or legislate these press outlets (rather than just having the most extreme libs talk about it with no action), I expect the Supreme Court would slap it down hard. Even the liberals on the court would find it hard to claim that freedom of the press didn't apply here.
