David, I'm less worried about Apple's R&D cuts partly because of the much simplified product line and partly because of the greater reliance on industry standards. (Access to the MSFT patents might be a help down the road too.) As long as the bulk of the R&D goes to the OS and the four main hardware lines, I think Apple can stay competitive. In terms of AAPL forecasting, I'm feeling more and more positive. We're getting our first news that preorders are terrific and also that radio commercials have started. (Not sure if these are just specific to one chain or are true Apple commercials. I think the former.) Marc
