The crisis du jour in Washington The Dems will try to make this into "Watergate" or "Irangate," but I don't see the legs. Should run about another two weeks max, IMO. The Politics of Iraq will settle down around the question of where we are in that country 14 months from now. If we are still in a mess, it will make the election close. If we are not, it will be on to other issues. The Dem base is violently angry about Florida, the impeachment, etc. They will try to keep the drums beating with this issue, but I don't think they can. I heard Dick Morris tonight, and he was advocating that Bush stay in Washington and be seen working on the Drug bill instead of relaxing in Texas.
