Sony collaborates with Intergraph (the company that sued Intel) on a digital media workstation.........

Sony-Intergraph Collaboration Results in Development of New Digital
Media Workstation

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 1998--Sony today demonstrated a prototype of its new digital media
workstation at SIGGRAPH '98, the result of a collaborative agreement between Sony Broadcasting & Professional Systems
Company, based in Japan, and Intergraph Computer Systems.

The Windows NT(tm)-based workstation is equipped with dual Pentium(tm) II processors, for high speed processing, and is
ideally suited for both broadcast and post-production companies involved in the creation of content. The workstation has a
19-inch rack-mountable chassis for a smooth installation and efficient operation.

Sony has been working closely with Intergraph to develop Sony-branded Windows NT workstations since SIGGRAPH last
year, when this collaborative effort was first announced. In addition, Sony has been developing broadcast and professional
system products that run on a Windows NT platform and are used in content creation, animation production and DVD
authoring.

"We're pleased to have this opportunity to work closely with Sony -- a name synonymous with top-quality AV solutions --
and in the process share our industry-leading advances in digital media workstation technology for Windows NT," said Wade
Patterson, president and CEO, Intergraph Computer Systems. "Our ongoing relationship with Sony has been very fruitful, and
will help Intergraph better serve the needs of broadcast and post-production professionals in this exploding field of Windows
NT-based digital media production."

"The combination of Intergraph's experience in the design and development of graphic workstations and Sony's long history in
the area of AV technology will make the new workstation a powerful and flexible platform," said Mitsuru Ohki, president of
Sony Broadcasting & Professional Systems Company, a divisional company of Sony Corporation. "By integrating a Windows
NT platform and software products into our systems, we will be able to offer the best possible solution to our business
customers," he added.
