William I think it's a non issue. Don't forget there are three camps. If they are able to consolidate three proposals into one, then all camps have to make changes and CVD is thus delayed. So do you think VCD will not continue in the meantime? If the Chinese govt delays CVD then Cube sells more VCD instead. The govt has to save face, since they were conned into selecting ESST's proposal in the first place. Also, CVD is MPEG2 based. I would suspect Ziva was designed with CVD in mind. Same silicon, different microcode? The settop decoder (AViA) is based on the same silicon as Ziva but with different microcode. Cube understands the benefits of a flexible silicon design to support different Microcode better than anyone. I really don't suspect that Cube will end up with a bunch of useless CVD silicon.
