I still think a FED should not influence the markets. Keep it up and we will have a crash.

I guess you agree that having crashes is not a good idea.

If everything else stayed the same, when do you think the likelihood of crash is greater: when the P/Es are high or low?

I think the answer is obvious: when P/Es are high. Greenspan probably thinks that P/E ratios are high now.

So to reduce the probability of crash, either prices have to come down, or stay constant and wait for earnings to catch up.
