Image Power has launched the FaxPC universal messaging service, adding
voice mail and outbound faxing to its free unlimited inbound faxing,
virtual inbox Web retrieval and free fax storage.
The new FaxPC premium services will offer subscribers the ability to send
faxes directly from any desktop application to any fax number. A form
guides the user through the creation of a cover page. In addition to being
able to send outbound faxes from the desktop, the universal messaging phone
number will now take voice messages that will be sent to the subscriber as
an E-mail attachment and stored in the virtual inbox. Subscribers can then
play back message on their PC or retrieve them by phone.
"The addition of these universal messaging services comes in direct
response to requests from our subscribers," said Stephen Swift, president
of Image Power. "Many individuals use a separate device for each type of
communication. This has created confusion for many individuals and
businesses alike. Customers are not sure where to leave a message,
resulting in many missed business opportunities. We feel the universal
messaging service will greatly simplify the ways in which individuals and
businesses communicate."
Messaging services are a cost consideration for any size business. The
premium FaxPC service provides not only the privacy and convenience of
messaging directly from an individual's personal computer but also cost
savings in the form of reduced long-distance rates. In addition, these
services provide savings by eliminating the cost of voice-mail systems or
services, dedicated fax lines, the purchase and maintenance of fax
machines, printing and paper, and labour required for the distribution of
faxes and messages throughout an organization. A small monthly subscription
fee to FaxPC provides all the required functionality and includes a
significant number of long-distance minutes for outbound faxing.
FaxPC also offers the convenience of a free quick fax where one page
outbound fax messages can be sent from the Web to any fax number in the
continental U.S. The company has also improved its fax viewer by enhancing
the functionality with features such as image rotation, file conversion and
improved on-screen resolution. E-mail services will soon be added, making
all message types available in one common inbox for Web retrieval. Fax
broadcast distribution and broad dissemination services are now also
available by contacting the company.
