Though this does not speak to the question of the thread it is interesting phenomena that churches and other charitable organizations sell script from grocery stores and receive a 5% commission. However, the purchaser, (parishioner or otherwise) after using a check to pay for the script has a receipt (the cancelled check) that might make it seem as if he is making a large donation to his church. I wonder what they do on their tax returns.
