Could these thousands of messages be sent from another mail server with his email address as the sender and "undeliverable" messages are bouncing back to him Yes, the email address may be spoofed (especially if he has his own domain with an smtp open port) but I would lean towards Klez being the problem. You have probably gone through the proper steps but it won't hurt to try Symantec's Klez removal instructions again. If you have system restore enabled it must be disabled and your anti-virus software probably needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled after the removal. securityresponse.symantec.com
