Gerald, I think your apparent "third of the time" lockups is just the time that quoe.com takes to set up the page---AFTER you enter the stock symbol and select the type of chart desired. JMHO

No, this is when Netscape freezes (no Netscape window responds), the lower left-hand corner status bar freezes, and the lower left-hand status message stays at "Starting Java..." or something similiar.

This occurred on both my P133/32meg machine and my wife's K5-486-drop-in-replacement/24meg machine on multiple Java-enhanced web sites. If you can access the first Java-enhanced web site you try then you can access any Java-enhanced web site without locking up. The first site will often lock up.

Netscape 4.0.3 had this problem and the previous version of Netscape 4.0.x that we used before did not. Since Java is everywhere, I don't like my browsers locking up, and IE 4.0 is really free instead of technically being shareware, I switched. Parts of IE I'm not fond of but then again parts of Netscape 4.0.x I'm not fond of either. I doubt I would have switched except for the lockups because I was comfortable with Netscape but I don't like downloading an "upgrade" and having a bad regression error make the product practically unusable.
