Triglycerides were 49, HDL 52, VLDL 10 and LDL was 31.

Great HDL and Trigs. LDL is too low. If I were you, I would stop the Lipitor. I stopped my statin with a 94 LDL score. I no longer believe in taking them when you are under a 250 score. Supplements, diet and excercise will work better.

Since you had an MI, I suspect your LDL is very high in the small dense kind. An advanced Lipid panel, either NMR or VAP, would give you good info. If you are built like a wiry marathoner, I would also get a Lp(a) test.
