Lucius, sale/marketing genius at work here. I think. If it was 'unprecedent', I bet these court approved (with free advertisement for all news channel) rebate sale program will be copycat many many times. Unless there is already a patent on it. Even that, I would pay the royalty just for the value of 'almost free national or even universal advertisement'. Never cease to enjoy marvel of life and entertainment in U.S.of.A. Man, this is the GREATEST sale program of ALL TIME. No wonder the US stock market is SO strong. These guys can sell ANYTHING. Give the 'team of plaintif lawyer' a reward for being the BEST SALESMEN in INTEL's history, regardless of their original intention.
