I am not surprised Intel pushes for availability of
"outdated" equipment.

But I was also under the impression that they are making
an active effort to literally re-use equipment from
previous generation product lines. Slides from the analyst
presentation at the Intel site indicate that 70% of
equipment required for next-generation product is obtained in
this way.
