I started following WCII about 2 1/2 years ago on the Prodigy board with no significant first hand knowledge of the telecommunications sector. Over the last few years I have received a great deal of education because of the straight forward discussions on Prodigy and now on SI. Thanks to Richard Dunavent, Ross Abrams, Ali Calzada and all others for their insight. I was reviewing last years Dillon Reed's report and saw his revenue projections of: 1997: wireless=20 million, CLEC=40 million, information=44 million 1998: wireless=50 million, CLEC=150 million, information=50 million 1999: wireless=60 million, CLEC=480 million, information=60 million 2000: wireless=70 million, CLEC=800 million, information=100 million 2005: wireless=195 million, CLEC=2 billion, information=250 million In comparsion to revenue projections of Steve G's summation of Jack Grubman's report: 2002: 2.7 billion 2007: 5.7 billion It seems like a large difference between the two reports over the next 4-5 years. WorldCom bought MFS for 20X revenue, ATT bought TCGI for 20X revenues and Brooks was bought for 9X revenues, why such a range? An aside, revenue increased from information services by 172% from 2nd (4.1 m) to 3rd quarter (11 m). Can we expect continued growth in this aspect of the business? Gary |
