Certainly, the Cobol business will hang in there and and produce a franchise for many years to come.

But with all its language experience, MicroFocus would be real smart now to add to its heritage and bring out a similar line of products supporting Java.

The momentum with Java is so great that it it continues Java may just emerge as the next Cobol in corporate computing.

This is merely a thought for consideration. No idea if such an idea has dawned on anyone in the merged Microfocus.
