Yes, for many years the US has been incapable of stopping Iran. The hard fact: the US can't stop Iran with anything short of a full-scale war. Little political will for that.

I don't doubt Israel will do something. I think they mean it when they say the threat is existential. But beyond covert action and better missile defenses, they've got some unpalatable choices.

The whole thing is fascinating to watch. It's a pivot point of history, unfolding before our eyes.
