Ron, I have an old Epson Stylus Color 660 and received stern warnings from MS after installing WinXP. I ignored the warnings and the printer prints OK.

Recently I installed a driver for a new camera in WinXP. The Sharp camera manual even said to ignore the MS WinXP warning and to click 'continue anyway'. After that I was able to download pics from the camera, but the printer [USB] wouldn't print. That fixed itself with the next reboot.

Bottom line: I would not simply conclude a device won't work with XP just based on the MS warning.
