Sonny,

Thanks for your post.

With all due respect for Michael Dell and yourself, the point is that DELL/CPQ's gain could be INTC's "loss"--in ASP (average sales price) only, not unit sales.

If Intel doesn't deliver a blowout quarter come Octber 14, it would be because that the big vendors got roo much of a volume discount and not because of demand weakness. As we all know, in recent months, CPQ and DELL have taken market shares from lesser guys like Packard Bell and ACER etc, thus the ASP of Intel's CPU has been reduced accordingly (the bigger box makers categorically receive bigger discounts)--a scenario not fully anticipated by most analysts just a few months ago.

The above would be the worst sceenario. With Merced being introduced and AMD becoming a fading competitor, INTC would resume its sustained growth in no time.

I have not sold a single share of INTC in over 18 months, and INTC consitutes 1/3 of my equity assets.

Hope the above is clear. If not, I will post Mr. Chaplinsky's report, the part that deals with this point of view.

Regards,
Ibexx
