This isn't a verdict? <ggg> Sounds like one to me.

On assemblers: They can add great value by burning in and
testing the assembled components before shipping. If you
order the parts, you have to do that yourself, then deal
with the problems that come up individually.

I don't know how to evaluate the various assemblers. I have
personally had little problem with the two I've assembled
myself. I HAVE had problems with local assemblers on three
others, but I do NOT view these as typical, as they occurred
over several years and resulted by and large from inferior
parts (in my judgement in hindsight). You have more control
if you pick the parts.

I am VERY interested as the evaluation of all of this. Say
on, everybody, please. Sorry to hear about PCNut problems --
it looked very promising.
