Rich.. I remember all last yr where every minor news event which coincided with a drop in AMD stock had trollers from the Intel thread (or even the RMBS thread) claiming that investors were starting to bail on AMD.. which was at worst a FUD attempt.. and at best.. a simplistic view.. the reason AMD went down? I'm no investor.. just a tech geek.. but here..read this snippet:
-----------
Semiconductor stocks stumbled lower after the Semiconductor Industry Association said worldwide sales of semiconductors in February decreased 6.9 percent from January levels. Already virtually all U.S.-based semiconductor companies have warned of weaker-than-expected results in the past two weeks.

Intel Corp. (NasdaqNM:INTC - news), the world's No. 1 maker of chips, lost $2-3/8 to $22-5/8, hitting its lowest
close since late October 1998 amid broad weakness in the semiconductor sector.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange semiconductor index (.SOXX) dropped 5.54 percent, hitting a fresh year low
Communications chip maker Applied Micro Circuits Corp. (NasdaqNM:AMCC - news) fell $1-1/4 to $11-5/16. Chip
equipment maker Applied Materials Inc. (NasdaqNM:AMAT - news) dropped $2-5/16 to $37-13/16. Computer chip
maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE:AMD - news) fell $2.94 to $20.74.

So. unless Intel investors decided they didnt like the broad ramifications of the AMD/Alcatel suit either.. I'd suggest the above reason has more to do with AMD's drop then your notion. (RMBS down 79 cents as well btw).
If everyone else in the semiconductir market had been up today and only AMD down.. your notion *MIGHT* have had some merit... but not from the above evidence..

My theory is that Paul asked someone in the Intel thread to try and keep aggravating and upsetting people while he was gone
