Re: Old Folk Portfolio ... Profit taking.

I have done quite a bit of profit taking this week and plan on putting that money back into the market when earnings season starts in a couple of weeks. As I have previously mentioned, September is the worst performing month historically for the market and part of that is because institutional investors do their tax loss selling and profit taking as it is the end of their fiscal year. They need to lock their numbers in for their annual reports.

I decided to use that same approach and have trimmed quite a few positions, some of which I have already covered, some I haven't.

Here is the list of companies sold or trimmed this month:

CHW .. D .. HRL .. NKE .. KMB .. KO .. LMT .. WPC .. PEP .. DUK .. JNJ .. WEC .. MO .. SO.

All total, the amount of cash raised for reinvestment later in October is $384,051.

This will be reflected in the portfolio update when I get to it, hopefully later tonight.
