There is far greater need than is evident by blood bank shortages. I give blood every 8 weeks and I have always felt that it is a demand of society, and all should be encouraged to participate. My experiences with my giving blood has given me cause for concern. The concern being where have my fellow donators been, and just how many transferable toxins are being passed on that can go undetected. Multiple sex partners is a dangerous issue that far to many human beings face. It's my opinion that a transfusion is a multiple of the multiple that effects not only the blood recipient, but also all those that will have future contact.
