That's true...if your order fills you are a customer, but you are also a customer just by submitting a bid then.

One of the earlier web pages on E*Trade site defined priceline customer as one who has completed a transaction.

I just don't see how E*trade will give preference to users of Priceline...do you think they keep track of all the people who submitted bids in their databases?

I don't know for sure, of course, and I am not attached in anyway to priceline or E*Trade other than being an E*Trade customer, but it appears to me that it would be easy enough for E*Trade to submit the names of those IPO applicants who claim to be priceline customers to priceline as a verification step before doing the allocation.

I have to confess that I haven't made a bid on anything at priceline ever, but still intend to apply for the IPO through E*Trade. I am wondering myself whether I should make a bid on something at priceline before the IPO.
