You'd have to be a little naive or foolhardy to invest in AOL. FInancially, the company is a fraud, employing huge phone banks of people making cold calls (I've received dozens). They smell of desperation. They are spending more than $200 per subscriber. Everyone I know who tried AOL dumped it after a couple of months in favor of independent ISPs. AOL is strictly for beginners who leave the service after they get the hang of the 'net.

You should read some of the Allen Sloan articles in Newsweek over the past year before you get burned and lose all your money.
